Current March 2024 Reads

Image
Hey everyone, I know it's been a while since I posted anything but I'm trying to give this another try and be more consistent with making posts.  I decided for my first post back, I going to let you all know what books I've been reading for March.  I've been gravitating towards audiobooks lately, not exclusively, but I've been finding a lot of them narrated pretty well, as well as, I appreciate the convenience of them when I have to take care of other things.  One of the first audiobooks I listened to was A Thousand Ships  by Natalie Haynes. This book has been on my TBR for a while and I'm also taking part in Greek God-A-Thon during this month so I had the perfect motivation when one of the prompts was a TBR vet.  I've always been a fan of mythology, as well as, different author's interpretations or retellings of myths. This an interesting book because it explores multiple perspectives of the story of The Trojan War through the lens of the women who hav...

2024 Reading Goals

Image
Hello, my fellow readers, we're all working on trying to read all the books we can for what's left of 2023. I'm already getting a jump on the goals I want to focus on for this coming year.  First, I want to focus on completing the series I've started and reading more stand-alone books in 2024.  I want to finish up to, but not limited to, 10 series and I want to read at least 50 stand-alone books. I also want to focus, as always more on my physical and digital TBR. I want to continue to focus on using my TBR game to help me choose books to read each month, as well as to help curb some of my spending habits. Other than that my main goal is to just focus on reading the books I want to read.  What are some of your reading goals for 2024?

Trope Tuesday: College Sports Romances: December 2023

Image
Hello my fellow readers, I'm here to bring you my first installment of Trope Tuesday  where each month I will be attempting to read books with specific tropes from romance to fantasy to mysteries, and exploring where I feel these books either succeeded or missed the mark, for me, with these tropes.  So two out of three books I ended up reading were Wildcat  by Rebecca Jenshak, The Lie by Karla Sorensen, and I DNFed Meet Your Match  by Kandi Steiner.  I ended up rating Wildcat  3 stars and rated The Lie  2 stars. These books both approached the forbidden romance trope within the college sports romance trope. I thought Wildcat 's approach made the main love interests somewhat more likable than the couple in The Lie . I feel like the books were both able to integrate the sports and the romance together well together. I think the issue was I just wasn't in either of the romantic relationships that were going on in each of the books. Meet Your Ma...

What Waits in the Woods by Terri Parlato NetGalley Review

I want to thank NetGalley and the publisher for sending me an advanced copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review. Overall, I wasn't a fan of this book. the ending felt weak, and it felt like one of those where we got all the information up until the end. This is my opinion on this book and others could feel differently about it. Overall, I gave this book 1 out 5 stars.

Anticipated Releases for 2024

Hello, my fellow readers. It feels like this year has just flown by. Now that we're getting into the new year, I really wanted to talk about some of my most anticipated books of 2024.  Ever since read Iron Widow , the sequel has lived rent-free in my mind and it seems as though we're finally getting a confirmation date as to when it's supposed to be released on April 30, 2024.   The next book is one I wasn't really aware of until about a month ago but the plot sounds like a lot of fun to me, how could I not want to check this out and that is A Fragile Enchantment  by Allison Saft. It kind of gives me vibes similar to the movie, The Wedding Planner with magic. I'll definitely be on the look out for this book on January 02, 2024, to read it as soon as possible.  Another book I'm excited about is the next installment in the Remixed Classics series with Gabe Cole Novoa's  Most Ardently: A Pride & Prejudice Remix . I can't wait to read this take on Jan...
