None of This is True by Lisa Jewell Review

None of This is True

Lisa Jewell

Alix Summer is the host of a popular podcast and one night she crosses paths with a woman named, Josie Fair. At first, she is slightly put off when she's approached again by this woman who has an idea for a new podcast series. Alix hesitantly agrees, but she thinks Josie's story could be the making of her career especially when she begins to share the disturbing details of the life she says she's been trying to escape.

I am a fan of Lisa Jewell's writing style. Her plots always have you guessing while everything within the plot is unfolding and as you're trying to figure out not only what Plot A and Plot B are usually going on within the storyline are going to be but how they relate to each other. This story was no different in that department. However, while it quite literally was a classic Lisa Jewell novel, for me, I almost felt like I knew at least something to the degree that happened was going to happen. And then, without giving anything away there is a final twist at the very end that makes you question for a third or even fourth time if you as the reader know what truly happened. I don't mind these open-ended or open-to-interpretation kinds of stories, in fact, I have a few favorites that have similar endings, this for some reason just didn't hit as much as I was hoping it would've. This is entirely just my opinion and everyone is entitled to one's opinion. I think Lisa Jewell as I said did an amazing job really immersing the reader with the podcast element of this story and would highly recommend if you're picking this book up for the first, second, or third time either giving the audiobook a chance or immersion reading it along with the audiobook. I will still pick up more of Lisa Jewell's work whether it be from her backlog or future book releases but for me, I gave this book a 2.5 stars out of 5.

Have you any interest in picking up this book? Have you already read it or listened to the audiobook? What did you think? Did you feel the same as I did or did you have a better experience with this book?

Please check CW/TW prior to reading this book.
