Reading Challenge #1: Read 1,822 between 10/15/2023-10/22/2023- RESULTS

Hello, my fellow readers. Well, the results are in and unfortunately, I couldn't read the number of pages I wanted for this challenge, but it was a fun challenge and I do hope to do more on this blog in the future, if not very soon. Now, while I wasn't able to read the amount I wanted to I still was able to finish a couple books that have been on my list to read not only this month in particular, but I was able to read books that went towards some other goals I have and hope to complete before the end of this year.

One of the books I read for this challenge was a reread of The Year of the Witching by Alexis Henderson with 359 pages. I enjoyed this reread I originally gave this book 3 stars. I feel I'm sticking with that rating or updating it to 3.5 stars. I love Alexis Henderson's writing and I think this an excellent. For me, though the second half isn't as strong as the first, again I still love Alexis Henderson's writing.

This is the second book in Kate Bateman's The Bow Street Bachelors series, at 330 pages, and I have to say I enjoyed it WAY more than the first. One of the reading goals I have for myself is to finish more series than I start them. It also worked out this is part of another goal where I'm also trying to get back into historical romance books. I felt like I had a lot more fun with this installment and enjoyed Kate Bateman's writing style a bit more. I thought the two main love interests not only had good chemistry but had an interesting dynamic being on opposite sides of the law technically, both still have a strong sense of integrity, will, and determination to do what they have to do and what they feel is right. I gave this book 3.5 stars because as I said I enjoyed it way more than the first and am starting to come around on Kate Bateman's writing style.

Another sequel I was able to read was Protective Heart by Brighton Walsh with 282 pages. This was a great sequel and I'm officially a Brighton Walsh fan and they've now become an auto-buy author. This is a friends-to-lovers and grumpy x sunshine contemporary romance.

Overall, I really liked doing this challenge and I read a total of 971 pages. What are some challenges you've completed and/or tried to complete lately? Also, what are some reading challenges you think I should try or you would like to see me try on this blog?
